ALL AAPRC PROGRAMS

The Consortium is a nonprofit media network.  We work with independent and station-based producers and hosts to develop radio programming that appeals to socially conscious, diverse listeners.  Because 70% of public radio listeners have at least a bachelor’s degree (the national average is 32%), we aim to help stations present content for younger, more diverse, college-educated listeners.  Expanding beyond Classic Jazz (though it is one of our cornerstone genre), we are building blocks of Contemporary Jazz, Soul, World, and Talk shows.  The AAPRC is passionate about bringing fresh, new African American and other diverse voices into the national cultural lens.
